Welcome to Newlands Medical Centre
The staff at Newlands Medical Centre in Middlesborough are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centered healthcare.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.
We are a zero tolerance organisation of all violence and aggression. This policy is for the protection of all NHS staff, but also for the protection of other patients, their families and visitors.
NHS Friends and Family
IRIS is a general practice-based domestic violence and abuse (DVA) training, support and referral programme. IRIS ensures that primary care practitioners can respond effectively to domestic violence and abuse and that specialist support is available for patients. The programme provides two specialist members of staff, the Advocate Educator (a DVA worker) and the Clinical Lead (a GP/healthcare practitioner) who work together to train practices about DVA. The AE provides specialist support and advocacy services for patients affected by abuse.
Your practice is an ‘IRIS’ practice. This means that the staff in this practice are trained about domestic abuse and specialist workers are available to provide support. You can talk to doctors, nurses and other staff working here if you are being hurt or controlled by your current or ex-partner, are afraid of someone at home or a member of your family. You can also contact My Sisters Place and ask to speak to the IRIS worker, ‘IRIS Advocate Educator’.
