Advanced Access Appointments System
We have introduced a new appointments system to enable us to offer everyone an appointments within 48 hours. Most of these appointments will be available the same day.
You can pre book an early morning or early afternoon appointment up to one month in advance. It is one appointment per patient.
For review appointment the patient is given a slip by the doctor and the patient can pre book any review appointment.
Booking Appointments
To ensure fair access to all our patients same day appointments may not be booked until 8.00am, either in person or by telephone.

Please avoid ringing for an appointment at busy times
i.e. 8.00am - 9.00am and 2.00pm - 3.00pm.
We will endeavour to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice but if that doctors appointments
During normal hours you should contact the surgery for an appointment. However there is another service (STAR) operating in South Tees between 6.30pm - 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-9.30pm. To access this service you should ring 111 and you will be given an appointment and directed to one of four sites or you can pre-book via the website - http://www.starappointment.co.uk/booking/
are already full you will be offered an appointment with another doctor.
Telephone consultations
The practice offers telephone consultations for conditions which may not require examination. These consultations are similar to face to face consultation but over the telephone with an appointment time and are prebookable up to a month in advance. Please book the normal way.
Urgent Appointments
URGENT medical problems will be dealt with without delay. These appointments will be with whichever doctor is available. Please inform the receptionist of the urgency of the problem and she will communicate this to the doctor.
STAR
GP opening hours have been extended for all GP practices in the South of Tees CCG area.
To improve primary care services outside normal hours, patients can now access the South Tees Access and Response (STAR) service
To see or speak to a clinician urgently between 6.30om and 9.30pm – Monday to Friday or 8am to 8pm weekends & Bank holidays please ring 111

During normal hour patients should continue to contact Newlands Medical Centre.
Answering phone
This practice is now closed. If you need to see - or speak to a GP then please ring 111 Local extended GP hours service.
Dental Problems
We do not treat dental problems in the practice. This includes prescriptions for antibiotics or pain relief. For Dental problems you will need see your Dentist.
If you don't have a dentist ring 111 who will provide a service.
