The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff which may mean your patient experience is subject to change.
The Chief Medical Officer announced on Friday 13 March that the country is moving into the ‘Delay’ stage of the response to coronavirus (Covid -19)

The doctors and staff at Newlands Medical Centre in Middlesborough are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.
We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

We are committed to teaching and training to improve the quality of care provided and you may be offered appointments with doctors in training or they may sit in during your consultation with the doctor. They are fully qualified and registered doctors and are here as part of their medical training program.We also teach medical students and they will always be closely supervised by one of the other GPs here.Your medical records may also be used for teaching and training purposes but strict confidentiality will be assured. If you have any objections to the above please inform the administration staff of your concerns and we will try and accomodate your wishes.
Electronic Prescription Service
We have recently started The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). It gives you the chance to change how we send your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines from.
If you collect your repeat prescriptions from the practice you will not have to visit the practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, we will be able to send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.
Patient Access On Line:
Its your choice, if you wish to, you can now use the internet to book appointments with a GP, request repeat prescriptions and look at some aspects of your medical records. Please ask reception for details.
NAMED ACCOUNTABLE GP
The practice is required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP.
The practice does keep a record of your accountable GP. If you wish to be told the name of your Accountable GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery.
We are trying to make communication easier for our patients. If you would like information in an alternative format, for example large print or easy read, or if you need help with communicating with us, for example because you use British Sign Language, please let us know. The Partners have asked the receptionists to ask you to tell them a little about the problem when you call to make an appointment. We are trying to direct you to the person who would be most suitable to help you with your problem. Of course you do not have to do this but it really would help us to help you.
Our practice is collaborating with NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) who is providing NHS numbers for those patients that may be suitable for electronic repeat dispensing prescriptions. The information is obtained from NHS prescriptions submitted to the NHSBSA. A member of our clinical team will contact these patients soon to explain the benefits of this service.’
Text Reminders (MJOG)
We have introduced a new messaging system allowing patients to receive appointment reminders and messages relating to your personal medical care direct to your mobile phone . This includes invitations to specialist clinics ( such as influenza vaccinations clinics ) If you would like to register for this service please complete the consent form attached.txt message
We are a Veteran accredited practice. Dr L Green is the Veteran Lead.
